We live in Scotland and as such we need to teach baby that come rain or shine she will be out braving the elements to play. Up until the point where she could walk this meant her being wheeled around in a buggy while I got soaked but post walking this all changed…
I needed a way of getting her outside without getting drenched but with more movement than a snowsuit as she is still a little unsteady on her feet. I searched online and asked about and a few friends recommended the Regatta rain suit so I checked online and found one on Amazon at a reasonable price. I decided to risk it and go for the 18-24months (she’s 14). I also chose a lovely yellow as I’m getting sick over everything being pink or blue for kids plus the yellow is easy to spot on a grey day!
I worried I’d done wrong and ordered the wrong size as the weather turned and I knew I’d need it sooner rather than later. When it arrived and I took it out the box I still thought it looked big for her but on the next rainy (read: tanking down) day I put her in it with a pair of jelly shoes (it was a warm day!) and we set off for the park.
Baby was all over the wet toys, she was sitting on puddles on the roundabout and swing and sliding down a sodden slide. I was worried she would be getting a little damp so after about 20 mins we headed home. I took off the splash suit expecting to have to change her and I was pleasantly surprised to see that there was zero leakage and she was perfectly dry.
I’m really impressed with the Regatta Splash Suit and I’ve been back to my friends to recommend it and to let them see pics of sizing.
I’d also recommend the suit on a wet slide – it goes far and fast! Endless amusement.
